Counselling for Doctors and Nurses
Do you spend your life caring for other people, but have no one to turn to with your own problems?
Are you facing difficult choices in your career and not sure which way to turn?
Or are you having trouble coming to terms with the loss of a patient, or a traumatic experience that you have faced in your career?

Some times it feels as though you are able to help everyone else, but when you need someone to turn to, there is nobody there to listen to everything you want to say. It can be difficult to go for counselling at work as you feel as though everyone knows there is a problem. However counselling online works well because nobody knows that you are receiving professional counselling. It is a flexible form of counselling, so it will fit around your shift pattern, without any hassles of trying to get time off. And you can book one session only, not having to commit to regular counselling.
As an experienced nurse I can offer valuable insight and experience which I have learnt throughout the years, as well as offering professional counselling. I have worked in hospital and community settings, trained as a midwife and studied for numerous qualifications from degree to diploma level, as well as many courses. I have also had many articles published on a whole range of nursing related subjects.
Referring Patients

Have you got patients that you think would benefit from online counselling?
Would you like some business cards or leaflets to hand out to patients? E-mail me at referrals@counsellingchangeslives.com and let me know the quantity you would like and I will gladly send them to you.
Perhaps counselling online is something that you have never even heard of. Well you are certainly not alone as the first pioneers only began their work within the last 10 years. Training courses have only recently become available for counsellors, however there may be counsellors offering this service who have not been trained to convert their face to face skills to the written word. I can assure you that online counselling training is essential since there are many areas such as ethics, use of an encrypted e-mail service, pacing of counselling sessions etc which the counsellor needs to be aware of. It is also essential that the counsellor has access to e-supervision by an experienced online counsellor.
Please feel free to phone me on 01480 395842 (UK) to discuss any queries you may have. I am usually available to take calls from 9am - 3pm Mon - Fri
Choosing an Online Counsellor
The important things to look for when considering whether to use an online counsellor are:-
Does the counsellor offer a securely encrypted e-mail service AT ALL TIMES? I use privacemail which operates an encrytion service that is more secure than the financial institutions use.
Is the counsellor a member of a professional association eg British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy? I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Is the counsellor trained as a professional counsellor? Are they happy to share their educational background? Full details of my qualifications.
Is there information about the counsellor; who they are as a person? This allows clients to decide whether they are the right counsellor for them. The counselling relationship is built on trust and whilst a professional boundary is maintained, it is important that a client feels comfortable with the counsellor.

Advantages of using Online Counselling
Online counselling is convenient and flexible which allows people to receive professional counselling at a time that is convenient to them. There is no need to take time off work, or have to ask other people for a lift to these sessions. Busy mothers do not have to arrange childcare, while the disabled person does not have the upheaval of yet another appointment. Isolated people can receive counselling in their own homes, no matter where they live. With online counselling, professional counsellors can offer their services world wide, which removes geographical boundaries.
Many clients prefer online counselling because they are able to maintain their anonymity, allowing sensitive and embarrassing issues to be dealt with. Without this service many clients would prefer to carry on suffering, rather than admit the full extent of their problems.
